ADMIN NOTE: The following post comes to us from long-time Bristol Motor Speedway race fans, Tim and Sharyl Kelly from West Monroe, NY.  The couple visits Bristol Motor Speedway regularly for NASCAR racing. They made their first trip to Bristol Dragway last month for the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals.

Wow... 16,000 Horsepower, what more needs to be said? There is nothing like the experience of NHRA Drag Racing at the Bristol Dragway.

We love all types of racing and have been to tracks from Canada to Florida; New Jersey to Iowa, and everywhere in between. Nothing can compare to the NHRA at Bristol. The sights, sounds and smells take control of your body every time the nitro cars make a pass. You literally feel it from the top of your head to the tip of your toes! 

It is great to be able to have total access of the pits in between rounds and be able to say hello to all the drivers and get an autograph or take a quick picture.

The racing at the speedway is second to none, and we have been loyal season ticket holders for over 10 years, but we have found a new favorite at Bristol. We will now have to make the 1,400 mile track from upstate NY three times a year.

Special thanks to Fred King and his wife Judy and Jeff Byrd for the great hospitality, we felt like superstars all weekend.
